Willie Faye Chase

Willie Faye Chase, 80, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, went to her heavenly home on Sunday morning, July 21, 2019.

She was born in Cleveland on Sept. 28, 1938, a daughter of the late Thomas and Margie Murray.

She received her associate's degree from Cleveland State Community College and served in various occupational capacities throughout her life.

She was an active member of West Cleveland Baptist Church and had a great love for her church family. Through the years she served in various church roles including past president of the WMU, assistant director of the Sonshiners, Chairman of the Hostess Committee, and Sunday School teacher in the children’s department.

She loved to cook and was locally known for her great homemade pies. She also enjoyed spending time and having lunch with her five special friends known as “The Happy Six.”  Most of all, she loved her family and will be remembered for being a loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Billy Ray Murray; and another brother, Eddie Murray.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted  husband of 61 years, Ralph Chase; two sons: Randy Chase (Debbie), and Tim Chase (Cindy); one daughter, Sha’Ree Chase Morgan (Greg); four granddaughters: Tara Miller (Michael), Jennifer McClements (Chris), Shayna Kunselman (Grant), and Sydney Morgan; six great-grandchildren; two brothers: Jimmy Murray (Sheila) and Dennis Murray (Faith); and numerous other extended family members, her church family and a host of special friends.

A Celebration of Her Life is planned for Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at 3:30 p.m. at West Cleveland Baptist Church, located at 1959 Westland Drive S.W., in Cleveland.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1 until the 3:30 p.m. service time. The Rev. Matt Ward and the Rev. Arris Cavender will officiate.

The interment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Bill Lee, Albert Belcher, Bryan Gentry, J.B. Mull, David Chase, Brent Mathews and Kevin Williams serving as pallbearers.

You are encouraged to share a memory or your personal condolences with her family by visiting her memorial webpage and guestbook at www.companionfunerals.com.
