Ruthie Forgey, core director of the Cleveland Corps Salvation Army said there are many ways to help.
“Volunteers are the heart of our programs. It is their care, compassion and generosity of time that enables us to successfully extend care to those in need,” said Forgey.
According to Forgey, holiday volunteers are needed for the Jingle Bells Jog, Cookies with Santa, the Angel Tree program, and Thanksgiving servers and gift wrappers at the wrapping station at Bradley Square Mall.
Another way to help with time or through monetary donations is the Red Kettle campaign, in which volunteers ring a bell outside businesses to raise money.
“When people see the bell ringer and hear the sound of the bell, I hope they remember change does make change for so many,” said Forgey.
