Red Clay Pow Wow continues at park

The 2010 Red Clay Pow Wow continues today, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Red Clay Historic Park, Cleveland.

This event is sponsored byFriends of Red Clay and Native American Services of Tennessee.

The Pow Wow is an autumn celebration of Native American Heritage throughart, crafts, games, dancing, storytelling, music, and other traditional skills.

Vendors of all types will be selling Native goods, and foods.

If you have never witnessed a “Grand Entry,” be sure to catch one at noon. The dancers form aprocession, dressed in their regalia, and enter the circle with dance and music.

The Honor Guard this year will be All Nations Warrior Society.

Special guests will be the Aztec Dance Group, featuring the renowned Fire Dance. The host drum will be the Birdchoppers.

Come join in the family fun. Bring lawn chairs, blankets, sun shades. Please do not bring alcohol, firearms, or drugs.

General admission is a $5 parking fee.
