Homecoming is underway at Lee today. Alumni continue to gather for the coming roster of events featured at the 50th Homecoming weekend.

The 2nd annual Volley for a Cure luncheon was held in the Great Room of the new Science and Math Complex as the opening event. Its partner event, the 4th Annual Volley for the Cure women’s volleyball game, between the 1st ranked Lee Lady Flames and Tennessee Wesleyan, occurs Friday evening in Lee’s Walker arena.

Guests anticipate this special semicentenary as a reminiscence of bygone days but with a couple of new events that promise to be the traditions of tomorrow.

A tailgate party will be thrown for the first time on the Walker Arena lawn prior to Saturday’s Homecoming Flames basketball game. The crowd will usher in the home team with the Flames Walk, a new ceremony to introduce the Flames to their alumni.

Lee’s video production team will again be streaming some of the Homecoming events live over the internet. This time, for those unable to attend the Legacy Reunion, a virtual reunion will take place, in which live hosts will interview guests of this party honoring all classes from 1918 to 1965, and featuring 1960, and broadcast through the Lee University website.

The classes of ’70, ’80, ’90 and ’00 also will be highlighted at this year’s Homecoming. Additionally, the Ladies of Lee will be celebrating their 45th reunion with an alumni reception, while the Chorale will commemorate their 10th anniversary.

Preregistered guests can pick up their packets at the Science and Math Complex.
