VITA provides free tax services to low and moderate-income filers. By helping Cleveland’s and Chattanooga’s low and moderate-income workers and seniors, VITA has helped pump millions of tax refund money into the hands of those who need it most and back into the local economy.
Volunteers receive three days of free training and become certified by the IRS, a valuable skill to add to any resume.
During tax season, volunteers may work from 4 to 40 hours per week. The volunteer decides the number of hours to work.
Cleveland currently has VITA sites scheduled for the Bradley Baptist Association, Lee University, Cleveland Kmart, Northeast Recreation Center, and the South Cleveland Community Center.
