She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Willie Kersey Shipman; daughter, Donna Sue Higgins Steele; and brother Bobby Don Shipman.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Stephens of Benton; children: Scott Stephens and wife, Donna; four grandchildren: Jermiah Higgins and wife, April of Benton, Nickelous Higgins and wife, Collette of Camp LeJeune, N.C., Amy Stephens Williams and husband, Dustin, of Delano, and Trevor Stephens of Benton; four great-grandchildren: Preston Higgins, Peyton Higgins, Kylee Higgins and Laney Williams; brother, the Rev. W. L. Shipman and wife, Lucille of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted on today, Nov. 21, 2010, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Cheatham and the Rev. Jasper Woody officiating.
Interment will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
