Originally planned as a reception and mixer in the school’s Jones Wrestling Center, the event has been changed to a dinner and get-together at 5 p.m. in the Cleveland High School cafeteria on Friday, Dec. 10.
The dinner will be a kickoff for another Cleveland High School wrestling season. The Friday celebration will promote the annual Cleveland Duals, scheduled for all day Saturday, Dec. 11.
“Former Cleveland High School wrestlers, coaches, mat maids and scorers are all invited to attend the event, as well as others who may have been involved with the wrestling program over the years (since the 1960s),” said Schriver.
“I already have commitments from approximately 60 people, and we hope to have 100 or more in attendance,” Shriver said on Saturday.
Following the dinner on Friday evening, the Cleveland Blue Raiders will wrestle against the Father Ryan team. Those attending the dinner are encouraged to attend the Friday night match, beginning at 7 p.m. following the meal.
“This event is mainly a get-together for those who have been involved in Cleveland High wrestling over the years,” said Schriver.
