This year’s audit report, according to Bradley County Trustee Mike Smith, is “very positive.”
The Bradley County trustee is bound by law to collect all county property taxes and keep a fair, regular account of all money received for county government.
During the 2009-10 fiscal year the Bradley County Trustees Office was responsible for a cash flow of more than $200 million and 600 accounts.
“Since an accounting department reorganization in 2007, the accuracy of those involved remains outstanding,” Smith said. “I would like to congratulate the Trustee’s Office staff for their work and dedication to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all Bradley County financial accounts. We will continue to serve Bradley County citizens with the highest regard and respect.”
Smith was elected as the trustee of Bradley County in 2006. Prior to 2006, he served on the Bradley County Commission for 16 years, having served four years as chairman.
