“A Christmas Carol” will be shown on movie night at Cleveland/Bradley County Public Library on Dec. 14 in the Community Room at 6 p.m. Free popcorn will be served.

The Christmas season and Beethoven’s birthday will be celebrated at Cleveland State Community College on Dec. 16 at 6:30 p.m. The primarily a cappella vocal ensemble, Vocal Rhapsody, will share songs ranging from traditional carols and barbershop arrangements to a vocal jazz arrangement of “White Christmas.” The Chamber Choir will share standards such as “Do You Hear What I Hear,” “And the Glory of the Lord” and “Break Forth O Beauteous Heavenly Light” along with a Latin rhythm “Gaudeamus” and the novelty song “The Twelve Days After Christmas.” In celebration of Beethoven’s 240th birthday, refreshments will be served at 6:15 p.m. while Beethoven’s music is played. Museum Center at Five Points is hosting “Home for the Holidays: Turn-of-the-Century Entertaining and the Chastain Glass Collection” until Jan. 8, 2011. The exhibit will highlight selections from the more than 1,200 pieces of late 19th- to early 20th-century American pattern glass donated by the Chastain family of Cleveland to the Museum Center in 2006. Body Recall, low-impact exercise classes for all men and women interested in feeling better and increasing mobility, will be from noon to 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church and continue for four weeks Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the church gym. A Christmas play and Feast of Lights will be held Dec. 17 and 18, 7 p.m., at New Liberty Baptist Church.

Fellowship Baptist Church in Benton will present “A Strange Way to Save the World” on Dec. 18 and 19 at 6 nightly.
