Ocoee Middle defeats Lake Forest

Ocoee Middle seventh-grade boys basketball team defeated Lake Forest this week, 41-36.

The Colts were up 15 points in the first half but let the Bruins crawl back into it. The Bruins outscored the Colts 14-7 in the fourth quarter to get within two but the Colts finished it off by going 5 of 8 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to pull out the win.

The Colts were led again by a dominating performance from Josh Jones. The forward led the Colts with 23 points and 11 rebounds on the night. He was 9 of 12 from the line. Wes Wagner finished with six points and three assists while Avery Jones had five points and nine rebounds. Tyler Carpenter scored three points while Peyton Hodges and Matt Meadows had two each.

The Colts are 8-4 on the year and play in the Cleveland Middle Christmas tourney Tuesday at 4 p.m.

OMS eighth 37,

Lake Forest 31

The OMS eighth-grade boys hosted the Lake Forest Bruins Thursday night and came out with a victory 37-31.

Sean Conway led the Colts by tossing in 12 points. Daniel Clark finished the night with nine and Elijah Haynie netted eight points. Luke Rymer laid in six and Alex White tossed in a pair of free throws to finish the scoring for the night. Rymer led the team in rebounds pulling down seven. Clark grabbed five, Haynie, Conway, White, and Hagan Franklin had two boards apiece.

The Colts will return to play following Christmas break on Jan. 4 hosting Athens Junior High.
