Gladys M. Gibson, 84, a resident of Cleveland passed away Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, at the family residence.

She was a member of Spring Place Church of God of Prophecy.

She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed traveling with the senior group at her church. She was retired from Hardwick Clothes with more than 40 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Kay Neal; parents, Chester and Linnie McAlister; brothers: Johnny McAlister, Claude McAlister and Franklin McAlister; and sisters: Sue Dupries, Betty Herman, Clara Swafford and Pasty McAlister.

Survivors include her daughter, Ruth Ann Carrocci of Cleveland; son, Donald R. Gibson and wife, Tracy, of Cleveland; sisters: Peggy J. Morrow of Cleveland and Rose Broyles and husband, Carl; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends: Connie Litton, Betty Cabrera and Barbara Bailes.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Revs. David Riggs and Grady Simpson officiating.

Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Glenn Ward, Ken Harrison, Terry Lynn Morrow, Chris Morrow, Chase Morrow and Jim Sharits serving as pallbearers.

A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 5 ato 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
