Claudia E. Dyer, 92, of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, with her family by her side.

A native of Louisiana, she and her husband moved to Cleveland in 1954 to join the workforce at Bowater. She worked at Anna Ball White’s and Kelly’s Closet. She also volunteered at Bradley Memorial Hospital Gift Shop, the hospital and was a Red Cross nurse. She was a communicant of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, John K. Dyer; parents, William and Helen Monfort Egan; sister, Lula Wall; and brother, James Gatlin Egan.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Dyer Goins and husband, Steven of Cleveland; her precious granddaughter, Jill Lovin Sollors and husband, Brian, of Atlanta; special extended family, Charles and Sara Malone of Cleveland; their daughters, Carey Pierce and husband, Tom, of Frisco, Texas, Susan Malone of Ooltewah and Katie Malone Leamon and husband, Daniel, of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Carter Paden officiating. Steven Goins, Brian Sollors, Charles Malone, Douglas Morgan, Steve Hixon and Micah Smith will serve as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
