She was a member of Center Point Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Shields. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Oscar Gibson; a son, Darrel Franklin Gibson; grandchild, Debbie Gibson; and sisters: Hazel Holt, Marie Gibson and Stella Pruitt.
She is survived by her three children: Shirley Graham and husband, Harold, Wayne Gibson and wife, Charlotte, and Doyle Gibson and wife, Judy; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildrand several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Nolen officiating.
Interment will follow in Center Point Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Garry White, David Allen, Mike Hinkle, Greg Ball, Nickey Burnette and Alan Gibson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Bobby Holloway.
Her family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
