He was born July 29, 1943, to Jewell Fricks Harris and Jack Harris in LaFayette, Ga., who both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Burl Harris; and two sisters: Doris and Lela Mae Harris.
At the time of his death, he was employed at Brown Stove as security guard and also worked for Peyton’s Southeastern. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Hixson. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sherry Eaton Harris; daughters: Cindy Morrison and her husband, Jim, of Ringgold, Ga., and Tina Denton and her husband, John, of Trion, Ga.; stepdaughter, Angela Wooden and her husband, James, of Georgetown; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Sue Harris of LaFayette, Ga.; brothers-in-law: David Eaton and his wife, Gloria, of Grafton, Wis., Johnny Eaton and his wife, Julie, of Duluth, Ga.
The Remembrance of Life service will be Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, at 1 p.m. from the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Revs. Larry Crooms and Alan Johnston officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Donnie Young, Jerry Dunn, Kenneth Wilbanks, Steve Little, Andy Fricks, and Brandon Harris serving as pallbearers and Eddie Miller and Larry Shipp serving as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
