Sam Hill, 79, a longtime resident of Cleveland, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, in a Chattanooga health care facility.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Cordie Hicks Hill; and his grandson, who he loved so much, Aaron Neloms.
Survivors include his wife, Ina “Chick” Hill; children: Dean Hill, Suzette Dover and Deborah Hayes; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters: Celia Black and Imogean Burns, both of Athens, and Pauline Lowe, Perline Buckner and Billy VanScoy; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Rev. Marshall Roberson officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
