Bobbie A. Adkerson, 81, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, in a local health care facility.

She was a member and former pianist of Mount Carmel Baptist Church.

She was a graduate of Bradley Central High, class of 1945. She worked as a secretary in the ICU at Bradley Memorial Hospital for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Miller; sister, Jessie Nicole; and brother, William B. Thompson.

Survivors include her son, Rodney Miller and wife, Diane, of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; two grandchildren: Rodney Christopher Miller of Mobile, Ala., and Raymond Todd Miller of Dimmitt, Texas; twin great-grandchildren: Payton Lane Miller and Haydon Gage Miller; two brothers: Eugene Thompson of Cleveland and Warren C. Thompson of Austin, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at Mount Carmel Baptist Church with Pastor Steven Huff officiating.

Interment will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ralph Buckner Home.
