Ocoee Middle School’s sixth-grade boys’ basketball team recently finished its season with a perfect 18-0 record.

Coach Ed Coates said the young Colts suffered three losses, but they were all to seventh-grade teams ... two to Baylor and a third to Cleveland, and didn’t count against their official record.

The Colts won their final game at the expenses of Cleveland, 41-30. Bryce Nunnelly sparked Ocoee Middle in the last game with 12 points. He was followed closely by Cole Copeland with nine points, Brady Swafford with eight and Cooper Melton with five.

Other Colts who broke into the scoring column included Dakota Murphy and Tyler Thompson.

As a reward for this season’s unbeaten record, team members have been invited to watch the Tennessee-Alabama game in Knoxville Feb. 5, following a pizza party.
