Bellefounte Baptist Church is welcoming Dr. Bobby Welch for a two-day time of refreshing of spiritual lives.

He will speak on Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Welch served as pastor of First Baptist Church, Daytona Beach, Fla., for 32 years during which time he was co-founder/originator of the FAITH Evangelism/Discipleship Strategy that is used as an outreach and evangelism tool in churches around the world.

He is a past president of the Southern Baptist Convention and served two terms, from 2004-06. He currently serves as strategist for Global Evangelical Relations for the convention. In this role he literally crisscrosses North America and the globe for the sake of evangelicals and the future of the Great Commission, a personal directive from Jesus Christ to all His followers.

Serving in the U.S. Army as a reconnaissance platoon leader during the Vietnam War, he was shot and given up for dead, at which time God, Welch says, miraculously intervened in a life-changing way that resulted in his call to the ministry.

Welch is a dynamic speaker who loves the Lord and has dedicated his life to reaching others with the message of salvation through Jesus Christ, a church spokesman said.

Pastor Lake Walker and the church are inviting area churches and the community to unite for this time of refreshing from the Lord.

Bellefounte is located on Highway 11 N. at the intersection of Bellefounte Road and the highway.
