He was preceded in death by his son, Justin Massengale.
Survivors include his parents, John and Judy Massengale; and brother, Marty Massengale.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at Hopewell Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Walker officiating and the Rev. Jim Burnham doing a reading.
The visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church with a dove release following the service.
