“This is a major effort,” noted Dr. Grant McClung, “to give strategic direction for evangelism and mission both in the United States and around the world for the next decade.”
McClung is president of Missions Resource Group (www.MissionsResourceGroup.org) and a member of the U.S. Lausanne Committee. Orlando 2011 is co-convened by the U.S. Lausanne Committee and the Mission America Coalition.
The consultation will open with extended sessions of corporate prayer. There will be plenary speakers and diverse responders each morning, followed by interactive table dialog. The afternoons will be given to “affinity consultations” and the evenings will include worship, celebration, and special challenges to the U.S. church.
“We are urging wide-ranging participation,” McClung stated, “and encouraging senior leaders to mobilize new generation missions/evangelism leaders with intentional age, gender, and ethnic diversity in mind. In fact, there is a discounted ‘mentoree registration rate’ to help facilitate the process.”
Registration, program, and housing details are at www.missionamerica.org and www.orlando2011.org.
An early bird registration is available through Jan. 31.
