HANDIPARK — Stuart Elementary PTO recently gave the Cleveland Civitan Club a $10,000 contribution for the construction of a new Civitan Inclusive Playground during one of the club’s weekly meetings at the Mountain View Inn. The new playground will replace the current HandiPark on Keith Street, located north of the elementary school. It is designed with the intent of being accessible to and appropriate for individuals of all abilities and disabilities. The existing HandiPark was funded by the Cleveland Civitan Club and United Way of Bradley County more than 20 years ago. Since then, the playground has deteriorated with use and age, and no longer meets inclusive design criteria.
