“The satellite locations have been very popular with taxpayers. They have eliminated the need for citizens to come to the courthouse and have allowed property owners to pay their property taxes closer to home,” said Mike Smith, county trustee.
To pay at a satellite location, taxpayers must have their tax statement along with a check. Smith said cash will not be accepted.
The collection locations and dates are as follows: Saturday, Oak Grove Elementary School; Feb. 12, Hopewell Elementary School; Feb. 19, Waterville Elementary School; Feb. 26, Bradley Square Mall (near the fountain). All satellite locations will be open from 9 a.m. to noon.
Smith said his office selected the locations in each quadrant of the county for taxpayers’ convenience.
“We tried to utilize all four quadrants of the county to allow closer access to the taxpayers. Also, taxpayers don’t have to live in that area to use that location. They can use any of them. We’ll have plenty of staff on hand to handle the flow,” said Smith.
The Bradley County Trustee’s Office, located in the Bradley County Courthouse, will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 26.
The use of satellite tax locations began in 2007.
