Doylas “Buck” Dodson, 74, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, from a terminal illness.

He was retired from Schering-Plough.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Elsie and Alfred Dodson; brother, Raymond Dodson; and sisters: Willie Ruth Goodwin and Barbara Crittenden.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Dodson; daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Charlie Coffelt of Chattanooga; son and daughter-in-law, John and Christy Dodson of Cleveland, daughter, Jennie Johnson of Cleveland; sisters: Eva “Nig” Dixon, Wanda Walker and Edith Goodwin, all of Cleveland, and Joy Henderson of Atlanta; brother, Dale and wife, Rosa Dodson, of McDonald; grandchildren: Bonnie Phillips, Courtney Samuelson, Cameron Szpur, Jessica Samuelson, Charity Szpur, Bradley Coffelt, Jordyn Dodson and Brittany Coffelt.

The funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor J.C. Eller officiating.

Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.

Pallbearers will be DeWayne Nanny, Lonnie Lynn, Rick Scoggins, Mike Rogers, Tommy King and Mark Ware.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
