He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid Alabama football fan as well as an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Cleo and Ethelyne Edwards Parker.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Parker of Cleveland; two sons: James Parker and wife, Amber, of Athens, and Jason Rowell and wife, Stephanie, of Charleston; one grandson, Matthew Dylan Rowell; one brother, James N. Parker of Spring City; and one half-brother, Robert Dean Parker of Alabama.
The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Cole officiating.
His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
