Lee University Opera Theatre will present full-length opera performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and on Feb. 27 at 3 p.m., in Lee’s Dixon Center.

Directed by James Daniel Frost, the performances consist of two one-act operas.

The first will feature a tragedy, “Dido and Aeneas,” a baroque opera by the composer Henry Purcell and the second opera will be “The Old Maid and the Thief,” a 20th century comedy by Gian Carlo Menotti.

Both operas will be sung in English. “Dido and Aeneas” will be accompanied by a string quartet and harpsichord conducted by Emily Harbinson, a graduate student in voice at Lee, and will also feature the Lee University Chorale, as members of the chorus.

Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $3 for students and children.

Tickets are available at the Dixon Center Box Office.
