Haley McDonald balances a cookie on her forehead during a recent Accelerated Reader event at Waterville Community Elementary School. The students traded in points they had gained through reading books for a chance to participate in “Minute To Win It” competitions. The events ranged from stacking apples to picking up macaroni using only spaghetti noodles. This event encouraged more students to read so that they may participate in future events.
