Roy Arnold Rogers, 54, a resident of Cleveland, went home to be with his heavenly Father on Monday, March 7, 2011, from a local hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born June 6, 1956, and was the son of the late Beatrice Jones Rogers and Walter Rogers. His brother, Franklin D. Rogers, also preceded him in death.

He worked in construction most of his life and was a member of the Millwrights Local No. 654 for 30 years. He was loved by all who knew him and he attended the Baptist church.

Survivors include his children: Joseph Matthew Rogers and Matthew Gabriel Rogers, both of Cleveland; his current wife, Robin Crabtree Rogers; his previous wife, Brenda Kay Rogers, both of Cleveland; his brothers: George W. Rogers and his wife, Jeannie, of New Hope, Tenn., Louis Kelly Rogers of Cleveland, James Richard Rogers of Jasper, William Kenneth Rogers and his wife, Claudia and Michael Leonard Rogers, both of Cleveland; and his sister, Brenda Sue Gilbert and her husband, Dewey, of Knoxville; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011, from the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. James Staton officiating.

A graveside service and Interment will be held at 1 CST from the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church Cemetery in Jasper with Billy Rogers, Sonny Rogers, Chris Rogers, Travis Rogers, Curtis Rogers Moore, Steven Tyler and Gary Runyan serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
