Jimmie Lou McCullough, 97, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011, in Holy Spirit Hospital following a short illness.

She was the widow of James Ernest McCullough who died June 4, 1994, after nearly 54 years of marriage.

She was born Nov. 15, 1913, to James Halbert McClure and Ila Kelly McClure in Dawsonville, Ga.

She loved her Lord. She also loved her church and served the Lord in it for many years in teaching children and adults and in other services. Always one to reach out to others, she spent many hours writing cards of greeting and encouragement to friends. She was an outstanding seamstress and enjoyed sharing gifts of her work with others..

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters: Monnie McClure, Alva Mae McClure, Nell McClure Cross and husband, James A. Cross and Sarah McClure Levenduski. She was also preceded by her husband’s siblings: Lucile Holton, O’Neil McCullough, Eva Luber, and James Archie McCullough and mother-in-law Mabel McCullough Hemphill.

She is survived by a son Robert H. McCullough of Camp Hill, Pa.; daughter, Barbara S. McCullough of Cleveland; her in-laws she loved dearly: Paul Levenduski of Hagerstown, Md., Raymond and Lois McCullough of Valdosta, Ga., James and Betty Bowers, Inez, Ky. and Charlene McCullough Moore of Cleveland; several loving nieces and nephews; and very special friends who are “adopted” as family and are sons, daughters, and grandchildren by choice. She will be greatly missed by these and by a host of friends.

The funeral will be held at 12.30 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011, from Full Gospel Church of God, with viewing from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Burial Rolling will be in Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill, Pa.
