Veta Beulah Dixon, 84, a resident of Ducktown, passed away Monday, March 14, 2011, at the family residence.
She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She was a member of Mine City Baptist Church in Ducktown.
She was the daughter of the late John Rogers and Oma Rymer Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Dixon; sisters: Essie Bridges, Dovie Howard and Eva Cole; and brothers: Cass Rogers, Roscoe Rogers, Walter Rogers and Cecil Rogers.
She is survived by her daughters and spouses: Shelia and Rex Phelps of Athens and Brenda and David Green of Benton; grandchildren: Jason and Cassie Bell of Cleveland, Jennifer Bell of Delano, Ryan Phelps and Haley Phelps, both of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 7 this evening, March 15, 2011, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Smith officiating.
Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lebanon Church Cemetery in Cleveland with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 this evening at the funeral home prior to the service.
