He was a member of Big Spring United Methodist Church. He had been employed with Cleveland Chair for 13 years.
He was the son of the late Wilkerson Overton and Irene Barr Overton.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Overton of Cleveland; daughter, Cindy Cantrell and husband, David, of Cleveland; stepdaughter, Allison Cyrus and husband, Joe, of Cleveland and their son, Gabriel Cyrus; one grandchild, David Cantrell of Cleveland; one sister, Agnes Miller of Lenoir City; and two brothers: James Overton of Cleveland and Ed Overton of Columbus, S.C.
No service will be held, at his request.
