She has been a resident of Cleveland for the past 23 years, coming here from Saginaw, Mich.
She was the daughter of the late Augusta Techentine Warnemuende and Herman W. Warnemuende. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Frank Oczepek; sisters: Ethel Sedom, Hazel Skuzcas, Mildred Dewey, Lillian Murphy, Adel Warnemuende and Marie Boudoux; and her brothers: Elmer, Albert, Herman and Melvin Warnemuende.
She was employed with Sunshine Biscuit Co. for many years and enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Roxann Carey of Cleveland; grandchildren: Scott Carey, John Carey, Troy Carey and Brian Carey; great-grandchildren: Chelsey Carey, Caitlin Carey and Macy Cary and her great-great-granddaughter, Ana Lilia Perez; sister, Vera Schlader of Saginaw, Mich.; brother, Herbert Warnemuende and his wife, Carol, of Hixson; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011, from St. Therese Catholic Church with Father Antonio Giraldo officiating.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2011, from the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Saginaw.
The Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
