The Local Chapter 3412 of AARP will meet on April 7 at the Senior Center on Urbane Road.

The social with snacks begins at 2 p.m. and the program follows at 2:30 p.m.

Nancy Griswold, Senior Circle adviser from SkyRidge Medical Center, will be the guest speaker.

She has been with theSenior Circle for six years. She has planned and traveled to several very interesting places – Alaska, Hawaii, Cape Cod, etc.

This year, a trip is planned for New York City. She plans day trips, such as the Cumberland Playhouse and the Georgia State Fair. Some trips will be overnight.

The main thrust for Senior Circle is to help those over 50 to have a better, healthier life through exercise, fellowship, games and other fun activities.

Each month there is a Lunch and Learn at SkyRidge when a local physician is invited to speak.

Chapter President Marjorie Hewlett invites all local members as well as those interested in being a part of the local chapter of AARP to be at the monthly meetings.

“We are working for the good of all senior citizens. If you want to have a voice in what happens for our seniors in this local area, please join with us and be a part of this organization,” she said.
