Some 236 members from across Polk County entered the contest.
The top two posters from each club were entered into a county-level contest. The top five posters in Polk County were Hannah McNelly and Cloe McNelly from the 4-H Home School Club, Jesse Thomason and Abigail Firestone from Chilhowee Middle School, and Siu Jacobi from Copper Basin Elem.
All of the top five 4-H poster winners received a $10 prize and were entered into the Eastern Region 4-H Poster Contest in February.
Hannah McNelly’s and Abigail Firestone’s posters were selected as part of the top 10 4-H posters in the Region and entered into the State 4-H Poster Contest. Hannah’s poster was then selected as one of the top 10 posters in the state.
The poster, which was title “Design your Future with 4-H,” was displayed recently in Nashville at the 64th Annual 4-H Congress.
It will hang in the Tennessee 4-H state office in Knoxville during 2011.
