Virginia “Ginny” Ann Burgess, age 77, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011, at the family residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was the daughter of the late Nannie Mae Caldwell Cline and Albert N. Cline.

She was affectionately known as “Mamaw” by those who knew and loved her. She was a member of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church.

She enjoyed quilting, genealogy and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Verbon Richard Burgess of Cleveland; her children and their spouses: Reed Burgess, Ginger Bain, Wayne Burgess and his wife Susan, Barbara Ownby and her husband Doyle, Clay Burgess; her grandchildren and their spouses: Jessica George and her husband Jonathan, Sarah Carroll and her husband Matt, Amy Womack and her husband Scott, Kevin Burgess and his wife Carmen, Richard Ownby and his wife Amy, Callie Falls and her husband Dustin; great-grandchildren: Riley George, Abby and Madison Carroll, Lexy and Tucker Womack, Lauren and Kolten Burgess, Caleb and Gracie Ownby and Chris Falls; sisters: Bobbie Sue Miller and Jo Dailey; her brother, Terry Cline; special friends, Paul E. and Sally Beaty; and several nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life graveside service will be conducted today, April 10, 2011, at 2 p.m. from the Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Carl Duckworth officiating.

Pallbearers will be Paul E. Beaty, Jeff Bagwell, Jeff Brown, Kevin Crowden, Josh Ellis, Andrew Stephenson and Cody Green.

A dove release will conclude the services.

The North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes has charge of the arrangements.
