The smorgasbord of culinary delights is worth the cost of admission to this year’s Chair-ries Jubilee: “Lights, Camera, Auction!”

Guests at each Chair-ries Jubilee fundraiser, a project of the Allied Arts Council of the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce, are urged to come early to enjoy the delectable fare provided by local chefs and restaurateurs.

“This year’s event will include some newcomers as well as some longtime favorite food contributors to Chair-ries Jubilee,” said Beth Gardner, co-chairman for the caterers. “Guests will have a wonderful opportunity to taste a variety of flavors as they walk among the auction items and bid on their favorite pieces.”

Sawyer added, “These culinary professionals will create what we like to think of as an ‘event within an event.’ It really is an aspect of Chair-ries Jubilee that is worth the price of a ticket.”

Tantalizing the taste buds of attendees this year are these restaurants and caterers: Bertin’s Taste of New Orleans, Café Roma, The Catering Connection, Cleveland Country Club, Impressions Catering, Pam’s Florist and Catering, Rebecca J’s Café, Southern Smokehouse and Swiss AM.

Attendees may begin with something from Melton Brown, Southern Smokehouse Barbeque, who will present his “Texas-style BBQ that will leave you licking your fingers and begging for more.”

Cleveland Country Club’s carving station will offer pork tenderloin in a raisin brandy sauce. It will also present an assortment of its popular cheesecakes.

A popular caterer returning to the event is Greg Hicks, Impressions Catering, who creates savory pasta dishes onsite. Also returning is Bertin Kurtz, Bertin’s Taste of New Orleans, who will feature Cajun cooking for those who enjoy something a little spicier.

Shannon Ritzhaupt, Café Roma, will be back with “traditional Italian antipasto, which includes balsamic mushrooms, broccoli and garlic, caprese, marinated red onions and olives.”

Swiss AM, a new caterer to Chair-ries Jubilee, will serve a variety of appetizers.

Following something “substantial,” a variety of food stations will offer dessert, including Diane Hodges and Caryn Hodges Bledsoe, Rebecca J’s, with their homemade fudge; Pam Mathews, Pam’s Florist and Catering, who will serve cake and punch; and Maria Jaibat, The Catering Connection, widely recognized for her signature “pink presentations” of sweets.

“We also appreciate the support of Cooke’s Food Stores, Ooltewah Discount Liquors and Tarver Distributing for beverages,” Sawyer added.

“Lights, Camera, Auction!” will raise funds for arts in education programs in local schools and other arts programming throughout the community. The event takes place this Friday at the Museum Center at Five Points.

The silent auction and social hour will begin at 6 p.m., with the live auction set for 8 p.m. Tickets, available at the Chamber of Commerce and The Red Ribbon, are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
