He was the son of the late Rosie Blackwell Thomason and Richard James Thomason. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Margie Sue Thomason; sisters: Mary Ann Self, Beulah Thorte and Mitzi Thomason; and his brothers: Tommy Joe Thomason and David Thomason.
He was employed with Jackson Manufacturing with more than 20 years of service. He also worked at Cameron’s Restaurant. He was an avid bowler for many years.
Survivors include his brother-in-law, Jerry L. Bain and his wife, Mildred; sister, Peggy Self of Copperhill; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2011, from the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Ray Cheathem officiating.
Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
