Walker Valley’s FBLA recently competed in the state competition in Chattanooga during the organization’s annual conference.

More than 2,000 members statewide participated in various competitions, workshops and presentations. Walker Valley students were the winners of several awards and competitions, which included Taylor Morris, first-place Accounting; Noah Stallings, second E-Business Web and fourth in Advertising; Nick True, third in Public Speaking II; Andrew Atkinson, fifth in E-Business Web and second-place Google Apps; Ashlie Davis, fifth place in Web Design; and Alex Womac, fifth-place in Web Design.

The local chapter’s recent community service project of recording and publishing the cemetery records of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Charleston won second place among all state entries. Members who presented the project and received the award were Michael McTaggart and Noah Dockery. FBLA is the largest business student organization in the world, with more than 250,000 members.
