Lee’s Percussion Ensemble to give concert Wednesday

The Lee University Percussion Ensemble will perform in concert under the direction of Dr. Andy Harnsberger, director of percussion studies at Lee, on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Dixon Center.

Brazilian percussion specialist, Dr. Julie Hill will perform “Rudi’s Batuque” with the ensemble as a special guest artist on the program.

The ensemble will also give the world premiere of Harnsberger’s new work, “Coming Undone.”

Hill is director of percussion studies at the University of Tennessee at Martin. As a member of the acclaimed Caixa Percussion Trio, Hill has performed at international festivals in Mexico, Brazil, France, Puerto Rico, South Korea, and the Percussive Arts Society International Conventions.

Harnsberger enjoys a versatile career as a performer and educator. He has performed in a variety of settings across the United States, Europe, and Japan and presents numerous solo recitals and clinics.

This performance is free and open to the public.
