Several area pastors and churches will participate in a post-sunrise service to be held in the front parking lot of Living Word Church, 930 25th St., N.W., at 8 Easter Sunday morning.

The service will include music and scripture readings related to the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

A unique feature of this community service will be a Resurrection Celebration Dance.

The dance is modeled after the resurrection celebration held in the city square of Budapest, Hungary, last year.

The video of the dance can be seen at www.uptofaith.com. Dancers will include members from several area churches. The dance will be performed twice, and the second time, others will be invited to join in if they wish.

Ministers participating in the program will include Pastor Michael Obi from The Prayer Center, Bob Malone from Church Alive Ministries, Pastor Pat McCulley from River Worship Center, Pastor Terry Ware from Restoration Temple, and Pastor Charles Poteat from Eagle’s Chapel.

Worship will be led by Pastor Bob Bevan and the Living Word Church worship band.

Pastor Larry Cockerham from Living Word Church said, “Everyone is invited to come to the service. Easter represents the greatest day in history when Jesus Christ rose from the dead. That event changed everything and it has the power to change lives today.”

The service is designed to be interdenominational and intergenerational.

The time of the service is designed to allow participants to come for the 45-minute service prior to their Sunday morning services at their churches.

Seating will be provided for the congregation in front of the main entrance to Living Word Church. In case of rain, the service will be held inside, including the Resurrection Celebration Dance.

At the conclusion of the service, free coffee and bagels will be provided inside at The Gathering Place Cafe, Living Word’s coffee shop.
