Byron and Anne Woody of Cleveland announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Barnett, to Tyson Erik Bennewitz, the son of Dan and Dana Bennewitz, also of Cleveland.

The couple will be united in marriage in a 6 p.m. ceremony on June 25, at Broad Street United Methodist Church.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Charles and Dora Stone of Harrison, Rita Ellis of Old Fort and Herbert Woody of Cleveland. She is the sister of Emily Woody of Orlando, Fla.

Miss Woody is a graduate of Cleveland High School. She received a bachelor of science degree from Middle Tennessee State University, and a master’s of school counseling from Lincoln Memorial University, where she will begin her educational specialist degree this fall. She is employed by Knox County Schools as a high school counselor. She is a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church in Cleveland.

The future bridegroom is the grandson of Rosella Thompson of Athens and the late Joe Thompson, and the late Robert and Nettie Bennewitz.

Mr. Bennewitz is a graduate of Cleveland High School and earned his bachelor of science degree in enterprise and information management from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He is currently furthering his education in information technology and networking at Pellissippi State. He is self-employed in desktop support and is a member of Wesley United Methodist in Cleveland.
