Tim Poteet musical guest of Civitan
Tim Poteet was the guest of Civitan on Wednesday. Poteet is employed by Southern Heritage Bank. He comes from a musical family. He played bluegrass with his father Bill, mother Evelyn and sister Lynn and rock and country with his brother Gary. He played in several rock and country bands out of Cleveland, and has performed at the Gem Theater’s two productions of “Smoke on the Mountain,” in “Don't Cry for Me Margaret Mitchell” and in “Love Letters.” He has been involved in music ministries at several churches in Cleveland prior to moving to Etowah eight years ago. Poteet performs regularly at Savanah Oaks Winery where he has opened for Billy Joe Royal, Ronnie McDowell and the Kentucky Headhunters. His children are Ethan and Summer, who both attend McMinn Central High School and his wife is Mary Poteet who is employed by Athens City Schools.
