The search is on for all former Cleveland High School (CHS) football players to participate in the school’s first Annual Alumni Flag Football Game at 2 p.m. Saturday May 14th on Raider Field.

Sponsored by the CHS Quarterback Club, the game is open to any CHS football alumni and proceeds from the day’s event will benefit the CHS Blue Raider Football Program. Event organizers are hoping for multiple teams which will be led by former school coaches Benny Monroe and Mark Tipton.

“The games will have no physical contact and flag football rules will apply,” said Greg Redman, president of the quarterback club. “We’re hoping to make this game an annual event that will not only raise money for the football program, but also unite former players each year ... despite age differences and levels of skill.”

Entry fee is $10 per player and general admission is $5. Concessions will be available for purchase by the public.

“We’re hoping members of the community, Blue Raider fans and all alumni will join us for this fun day,” said Eddie Caylor, vice president of the quarterback club. “All of the proceeds will benefit the Blue Raider football program.”
