Due to the extensive damage to the Chatata Valley Golf Club and throughout Bradley County caused by this week’s tornadoes, the annual Stanley Butler Memorial Golf Tournament has been postponed.

The tournament will be moved to later in the summer or early fall according to Lee University Athletic Director Larry Carpenter.

The event was planned for next Wednesday, May 4th, but after consulting with Chatata Valley General Manager Joe Starr and Lee golf coach John Maupin, Carpenter decided it would be in the best interest of all parties to postpone the tournament.

Carpenter said the tournament committee will meet and decide on the best possible date for the tournament.
