Bobby "Bob" Garrett, 78, a resident of Cleveland, passed away in a Chattanooga health care facility, Thursday, May 5, 2011.

He was the son of the late Rosebud Huchinson Garrett and Hubert Garrett. He was preceded in death also by one brother, Bill Garrett.

He was employed by the FAA and worked as a radar technician at the Chattanooga airport for 30 years. He served in the Air Force in the Korean War.

He loved music and played the guitar at Philippi Baptist Church, where he was a member.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Ellis Garrett of Cleveland; one daughter, Lori Brewster and her husband, Earl, of Cleveland; two sons: Byron Garrett and his wife, Nadine, of Columbia, and Greg Garrett and his wife, Lorri Garrett, of Ooltewah; his grandchildren: Holden Bowman, Brandon Bowman, Zack Garrett, Hope Brewster, Hanna Brewster, and Josh Brewster.

The Remembrance of Life service will be conducted Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at 2 p.m. from the Philippi Baptist Church with the Rev. Sammy Hooker and the Rev. James Vaughn officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mount Olive Cemetery with military honors. Jim Robinson, Jim Griffin, Zack Garrett, Brandon Garrett, Bert Bledsoe and Stacy Cross will be serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be August Harvey, Ken Reno and Jack Dailey. The body will be at the church one hour prior to service.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2011, at the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes.
