James "Jim" Johnson, 80, a resident of Calhoun, passed away Friday, May 6, 2011, at the home of his daughter.

He was the son of the late Bessie and Mitchell Johnson. He was preceded in death by one sister .

He was retired from International Harvester. He loved music and enjoyed setting on his front porch and working at Flagstone Golf Course which is now Chatata Valley.

He was a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Arwana Tatum Johnson of Calhoun; daughter, Angela Barefield and her husband, Ricky, of Cleveland; son, Curtis Johnson and his wife, Debbie, of Calhoun; three grandchildren: Lindsey Johnson, Brittany Barefield and Jeremy Hardin; brother, Joe Johnson and his wife, Betty, of Murphy, N.C.; and step-brother, Johnny Johnson of South Carolina.

The Remembrance of Life service will be conducted Monday, May 9, 2011, at 3 p.m. from the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Steve Davis officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
