Local United Methodist churches in Cleveland, along with other sponsors, are hoisting a May Day spring carnival and disaster relief fundraising event at Yates Primary School on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.

There will be a carnival of games and activities for children, a community meal and live music.

The event is free to the public, but the churches are asking for monetary donations, non-perishables and household items which will go toward disaster relief for individuals and families in the Cleveland-Bradley area. One hundred percent of all donations collected will be used for relief efforts.
