Christian comedian/singer Mark Lowry, the Voices of Lee and the Life Care Choir will give a concert at Lee University’s Conn Center on Thursday, May 26, at 7 p.m. to benefit local tornado victims.

“The concert, sponsored by Lee University and Life Care Centers of America, will offer an opportunity when the community can come together, forget about our troubles for a while, laugh and be inspired by the words and music presented,” said Beecher Hunter, Life Care president. “And the good part is that every penny of the money raised will go directly to Bradley County relief agencies to help those affected by the storm. Join us for a special evening.”

Tickets are $10 and are available at LifeWay Christian Stores in Cleveland and Chattanooga, as well as at White Wing Christian Bookstore in Cleveland. Tickets may also be purchased by calling Lee University at 423-614-8000 or Life Care at 423-472-9585.

Lowry will share songs and stories throughout the evening. His comedy concerts and videos have spanned more than a decade. He is also a member of the Gaither Vocal Band.

The Voices of Lee, the select a cappella group from Lee University, will also share several musical numbers. The group won third place on the 2009 season of NBC’s “The Sing-Off” and has performed in such venues as Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, the White House Christmas Gala and “Good Morning America.” Danny Murray directs the group.

The Life Care Choir will perform a tribute to the 1992 comedy “Sister Act.” The group is directed by Jim Milligan, senior pastor of the North Chattanooga Church of God, and will feature vocal solos by Charmaine Varlack Bridgeman.

The concert is being sponsored by Lee University and Life Care Centers of America.
