She was the daughter of the late Lizzie Mae Bishop Arthur and Walter Felix Arthur. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lipps; two great-grandchildren: Travis Hyatt Bates and Kaylynn Faith Lipps; her sister, Irene Fowler; and her brothers: Ralph, J. C. and Fred Arthur.
She was retired from Hardwick Clothes with 40 years of service as a seamstress.
She was a member of Cookson Creek Baptist Church in Polk County.
Survivors include her daughters: Linda Bates and her husband, Ted, of Cleveland and Donna Palmer and her husband, Jimmy, of Georgetown; son, Gary Lipps and his wife, Connie, of Cleveland; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends .
The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011, from the Cookson Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Travis Bates and Pastor Rick Woody officiating.
Interment will follow in the Cookson Creek Cemetery with Eric Bates, Jonathan Bates, Gary Lee Lipps, Austin Moore, Nick Palmer, Dwight Moore, Preston Bates and Timothy Bates serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes.
