He was of the Catholic faith. He was a graduate of Villanova University in Philadelphia, Class of 1969.
He was a retired CEO for Kil-Bar Electric (electrical contractors).
He was the son of the late Harold J. Kilburg Jr. and Colette McGraw Kilburg. He was also preceded in death by his stepson, Rylan Hook.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Kilburg, of Charleston; four children: Harold Kilburg IV of Northbrook Ill., James Kilburg of River Forest, Ill., Danny Kilburg of Chicago Illi., and Katherine “Honey” Kilburg Juragan of Washington, D.C.; two stepchildren: Marz Currier of Mountain View, Calif., and Kirbey Hook of Fox Lake, Ill.; and sister, Kathy Kilburg Donnegan of Marco Island, Fla.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Minister Tony Jenkins officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
