Carl Ledford, 82, of Cleveland, died Saturday, May 28, 2011, at his home.

He was of the Baptist faith and a proud member of Woodmen of the World. He was the owner and operator of Ledford Furniture and Flea Market (Hwy 64) that was destroyed by the tornado on April 27th.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Callie Pryor Ledford; the love of his life, his wife, Patsy Stafford Ledford, who passed away November 20, 2010; daughter Judy Ledford Nesbitt; grandson, Craig Michael Ledford; brother, Doug Ledford and sister Mary Elizabeth Lonas.

Survivors include his children: Joyce Ann Filyaw of Ocoee, Leon Carl Ledford of Georgetown, Bobby L. Ledford of Ocoee, and Nola Jayne Spurlin of Cleveland; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Purdy officiating.

Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery concluding with a white dove release ceremony.

His grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
